Québec’s Winter Carnival site, Québec City.
Jean Marie and Christopher : “From the snow sculptures we wandered around the Desjardins Carnival site, and onto the Plains of Abraham, the location of the battle between French and English forces that (eventually) led to the transfer of Canada from France to England. The only battles taking place today were friendly snowball skirmishes, but we did find a snow rafting attraction that was open as part of Carnival, and had a brief, exhilarating ride down one of the steeper hills surrounding the Plains. We finished our Carnival adventure with a serving of tire d'érable, a maple-sugar taffy that is a local favourite; we highly recommend it!”
