I visited Les Quatre Vents, a private garden situated near the village of La Malbaie, Charlevoix County, in a river valley that curves down to the St Lawrence with the Laurentian Mountains to the west. It is a private garden, open to the public for only a few days each year. The gardens were created by Francis Cabot, an American whose family bought land there in 1902. It is probably the best known garden in the country and one of the largest private gardens in the world.
